How to market to Nerds, Geeks and other unknowns?

And the Nerds shall inherit the earth! Yes, it is true. Despite what many markets may think that Boomers rule the earth the reality is that Nerds have taken their place as the consumers of marketing ideas and promotions.

So how do you market to Nerds, Geeks and other unknowns?

One of the simplest of answers is technology. Nerds Love and Understand Technology.

Whereas the Boomer generation “likes” tech, the Millennials “love” tech!

They grew up with it, help created it and love the expression that technology offers.

Now if you are going to offer them a tech giveaway with a corporate logo on it don’t try and give them something iconic they already have with a logo (ie don’t give them an I-pod with your logo…they will give it to their kids) .

Instead, give them a tech gift (promotional product) that causes conversations, creates and invites debate and shows off their unique identity.
